Celebrity makeup artist
On her mother’s suggestions, Sarnelle entered beauty school, and soon after graduating, landed a job as a makeup artist at CBS. Later she would go on to work alongside legendary makeup artist Joe Blasco. Sarnelle went solo in 1984. That same year, she developed her Valerie Beverly Hills line of cosmetics at the urging of her growing clientele. Ten years later, she moved her original Beverly Hills salon to the corner of North Canon Drive and Little Santa Monica Boulevard. Most recently, she has relocated to the more pedestrian-friendly street of Beverly Drive. Her clients have loyally followed her to every new location.
Valerie has a strict philosophy to cosmetics. For her, the beauty is in the details. From her store to her packaging, everything that has Valerie’s name on it conveys a commitment to imagination and perfection. Customers trust that when they put their beauty needs in the hands of Valerie, they will receive careful and tasteful artistry.
For Valerie, it is all about creating and recreating her products, her company, herself, and her clients. She has dedicated her life to being an innovative businesswoman and beauty guru, and she plans to continue sharing her talent and creativity with the world.
Valerie is a proud mother of two with a daughter named Sheridan, and a son named Austin. Her daughter graduated from Columbia University with a Masters in Psychology and works in the nonprofit sector in New York. Her son is an entrepreneur and has built a successful car customization company called Allroad Outfitters Inc. She has been married 34 years to her loving husband, Robert.
